Tangerine is a small citrus tree that resembles other members of this family and is easier to cut than orange fruit. Tangerines have good resistance to cold, but their fruits are very sensitive to cold due to their small and thin skin. The production of this product in the northern regions of Iran with a mild climate, has a unique quality. Tangerine, with 39,000 hectares, has the largest share of citrus production in the country. Mazandaran Province with about 22,000 hectares of cultivated area in tangerine production is one of the most important suppliers of this product in Iran. Tangerines in Iran are cultivated in many varieties such as Enshu tangerine, Clementine tangerine and Page tangerine.
